Love is A Dream

So many people think the time is right to serve only themselves
So they take their hearts and take their minds and put them on a shelf
I believe that I have seen the end of all there is to be
In the face of non-believers who’ve destroyed their destiny

Chorus
Deep in your soul there is love
Do you hear it calling?
Love is a dream in this world
That is why it’s falling

Do you find that there is sadness in the words you often say?
Do you rise above this madness or do you just run away?
And the soldier that is waiting for the guns to call his name,
Finds that all that we’re debating puts a hole right through his brain

Chorus 2X
Deep in your soul there is love
where there is all you’ve been dreaming of

Big illusion mass confusion, dirty city streets
Broken dreams oh such destruction underneath our feet
And the turbine shines and as it turns we all just fade away
In a world without redemption on a dark and dying day

Chorus
Deep in your soul there is love
Where there is all you’ve been dreaming of
Deep in your soul there is love
Where there is all you’ve been dreaming of

Nickels and Dimes,
   Marbles and Stones

I met a man
Who lived under a bridge
He was halfway through
A pint of gin

He was three quarters through a slice of bread
He was only skin and bones
Right next to dead

Chorus
And the only the things the young man owned
Were nickels and dimes, marbles and stones
Just some nickels and dimes, marbles and stones

I had to ask him,
What made him stay.
And he answered me,
I ran away
So I asked him,
Why did you run?
He hung his head and answered me,
I felt unloved

Chorus 2X

Suddenly a scene appeared before my eyes
Shining bright and clear it hypnotized
I saw myself in need of help to save my life
Because before I cried to Christ that too was I

Chorus 2X

Not Man

Not Man is sleeping today
And he has no intensions of waking
Mother is yelling but he
Is immune to the sound she is making
   It's another day
   Like any other day

Not Man crawls out of bed
In his slow motion instant replay
Stumbling and stuttering down the hall
He's on his way
   To another day
   Like any other day

And he thinks of himself and nobody else
'Cause nobody else has ever been him
And no one in this world or any other
Can understand what he feels within
   No one has ever known
   No one, ever
   No one has ever shown
   No one, ever

Not Man is senseless and motionless
As he stares at his Cheerios
"I'm not hungry" he loudly
Announces and it's time to go
   To another day
If only it was a better day

Not Man sits on the bus
And it carries him to his prison
People pushed in and packed in like
Pokemon cards - it isn't
   A better day
   It's just another day

(No one has ever known
   No one, ever
No one has ever shown
   No one, ever)

And he thinks of himself and nobody else
'Cause nobody else has ever been him
And no one in this world or any other
Can understand what he feels within

Teachers are teaching but no one is reaching
The boy who lives in his mind
As he day dreams his life like a video game
Unreal, unrehearsed, unconfined

One day he'll find a way to be free
One day the boredom will end
Suddenly teacher has popped his balloon
And reality crashes on him

Not Man is tired and cranky
And not in the mood for pleasantries
Don't bother making suggestions
He’s oh so hard to please

Not Man is dazed and confused
He lives his life in limbo
He knows that there is something more
But it's lost beyond the window

And he thinks of himself and nobody else
'Cause nobody else has ever been him
And no one has ever known what it is like
To be waiting around for your life to begin

Not Man is waiting for a better day
Come on Come on better day
Not Man is hoping for a better day
Come on Come on better day
Not Man is praying for a better day
Come on Come on better day
Not Man is waiting for a better way
Come on Come on better day

Lullaby Of Bedlam

Gone are the cornfields you used to call home
The plow and the tractor to which you were chained
Where after all is the glory in dirt
With your head in the clouds and the mud on your shirt

You took your discontent and the cash your folks gave
Let it ride on one ticket to fortue and fame
With no pangs of guilt in that sullen young heart
You took you own birthright and feed it to the sharks

At the gates of the city’s insatiable maw
Our hero arrived staring slack jawed and dumb
At the circus of neon that painted the clouds
And the tall shiny towers that clawed at the sky

Cold and malevolent heartless and cruel
An apple proffered a knife held unseen
Defiler of daughters corruptors of sons
A Hell-on-earth playground of crack pipes and guns
The moment you dumbly emerged from that train
You fell under the spell of the city
Enticed by her beauty and come hither smile
Sedated and drunk you fell into her arms

Breath deep the sweet perfume of her insanity
Seduce and intoxicated taken without a fight
Learn fast or be crushed by the ways of the city
As the coils of darkness tighten slowly around your heart

"Welcome to my parlor" said the spider to the fly

Hollow and frozen where once your love burned brightly
Forsaken and distant, destined for the grave

Look at yourself in the mirror and wail in despair
Believing the lie that you cannot go home again

If you leave now you can make it home by sunrise

You empty the bottle and hope that this time it will numb you
To the weight of the world that come to bring you down
But the flood of regret that seems to fill you with madness
My also serve as the current that carries you home

Breath deep the sweet perfume of her insanity
Seduce and intoxicated taken without a fight
Learn fast or be crushed by the ways of the city
As the coils of darkness tighten slowly around your heart

Redemption

I. Make It Home By Sunrise
Sultry downtown summer night
Under an orange dome of heavy clouds
Tail lights dance around like fireflies
In the shimmering pools at the curbside

Ignoring the crowd and the traffic
You look ahead, and you hurry on

Not that anyone waits for you
In that empty shell on the seventh floor
Where you rattle around like a stone in a can
Dreading the thought of the coming day
Living your life like a jaded hero
Wrestling the evil within yourself

Are you satisfied with what you found?
I’d give all I have to bring you home
If you leave now you can make it home by sunrise

I remember the day you said goodbye
You said you had to find your way alone
Look where your solo flight has left you
At the end of yourself on the seventh floor

Once again the hounds of disenchantment
Drag your dreams to the ground

Heavy and intractable
That same old ache as from a broken bone
Rises in you as you move to the window
Looking out so weary and sad
Summon the courage to shift your gaze
And look toward home where I wait for you

My door is open should you feel inclined
Come with me and leave this world behind
If you can make it home by sunrise

You’re too tired to stand your ground
and too weak to run away
Your heartbeat is pounding out with sorrow
And another drink won’t drive away the pain

II. Out Of The Ashes
Finding it so hard
To define your dreams and make them real
What you've discovered
Is something that the whole world feels
Searching your horizon
For something you can call your own
Where is the profit
When what you keep you keep alone

Chorus
Time is not your healer
And pain is hard to kill
And you can't deny the empty space
That cries out to be filled
Who will you run to
In a time when your whole world crashes
Whose hands will lift you
Like a diamond, out of the ashes

Still have a vision
Of damage done so long ago
The image is faded
And the memory's old
But the pain still shows
So hard to let it go
To relinquish what's been done to you
You thought you'd left it far behind
Yet you wonder why it's killing you

Chorus

I wrestled for the thousandth time
With the fear that tried to choke me
But I knew my time had come at last
And I resolved to make the journey home

III. Lead Me On
I’m not sure how I should do this
I’ve never known this love before
Can you show me?
All the things I should’ve learned
All the anger and the getting burned
Now I stand here all alone

Look into my eyes and see the pain deep within them
And all the broken promises I’ve been too quick to invest in
Take this weariness and fling it far from me
And steady this reckless life
Comfort this broken heart
Take these trembling hands
And Lead me on

×
This Good Place

Here I am
Standing in the open
Unguarded, yet unafraid
The world is softened through the veil of tears I’ve cried
Over what’s been done, and what’s been said
What will your reaction be?
Will you close your eyes, turn away from me?
Do you sense my surprise at the touch of your hand

Here I stand.
Under old familiar branches
Sighing leaves bid welcome to straying feet
It is good here. how could I have left
How could you have waited so patiently
Softly I can hear you calling
I dash to unlock the doors one by one
With hurried hands I throw open the gates
To allow you in, to make room for the Son

In the silence of the night I call you
Underneath the shelter of a warm summer sky
Waiting to see my reflection, in your eyes

I have wings and I am speeding through the heavens
Unencumbered by a hollow, token life
There is nothing, there is no one, left to accuse me
I bid farewell to this spinning dying world

You and I with our entourage of angels
stroll past the mansions in this good place
I reach out with innocent hands
to touch your face.

The Promised Land

There’s a clamour in my heart for something greater
Then the way I have embraced for all these years
There are questions that my reason cannot answer
And I hear a calling from beyond these hemispheres
I am dealing now with something far more lovely
Stretching hard to see and yet so terrified
I have stepped outside the boundaries that my father knew
To be met by someone greater on the other side

First Chorus
In a flash I am transformed to the Eternal
Passing through the veil to reach the Masters Hand
By the power of this Holy Consummation
I’ve turned round to take the way to the Promised Land

There are times when , even now, I am reminded
Of a million wrongs I’d just as soon forget
And though it’s just my sinful nature’s dying rattle
I am waylaid in this ambush of my regret
But in a pure and splendid moment of surrender
There’s a light that floods the valley of my heart
Fear is vanquished in the clear delicious morning
And defeated is the rage that forced us far apart

Second Chorus
In a flash I am transformed to the Eternal
And I feel the Eyes of Love smile down on me
By the power of this Holy Consummation
For the first time, eyes wide open, I begin to see
In a flash I am transformed to the Eternal
Passing through the veil to reach the Masters Hand
By the power of this Holy Consummation
I’ve turned round to take the way to the Promised Land
The Promised Land

First Chorus

The Sword Of Goliath

It seems I’ve been running forever
I just can’t go on another day
The words I once trusted are useless
The strength in my body fades away
My fear clings like heat in the desert
And strikes at my heals like a snake
Father I need your assistance
I don’t know how much more I can take

Chorus
Don’t be afraid my son, for I am with you
I will lead you to a perfect place
I will defend you in your day of trouble
I will cover you inside my grace

I come to a place of refreshment
A station of safety and rest
I pray for a bread sent from Heaven
My need won’t be filled from any less
My God gives the sword of Goliath
And feeds me on manna divine
The weapon once used to destroy me
Will now serve to take back what is mine

Chorus

The serpent, who filled me with sorrow
Is no longer an object of dread
I go to his camp with vengeance
And retreat in the night with his head

Chorus

×
Holy Spirit Fire

In each and every life, there is a prison cell
A penitentiary of sorrow and shame
We languish away in this jailhouse mentality
Doing our time in these cages of self-blame
How we long to drag deep into starving lungs
The sweet fragrance of priceless liberty
We search with blinded eyes
Grope with numbed fingers
Cry with muted voices for someone to set us free.

And all this time right here beside us,
Stands the Savior to lead us through the gates.
He holds the key. He calls to our spirits.
We rage and struggle and still He waits.

Chorus
There’s a Holy Spirit fire, pouring out in the latter rain.
Open your eyes and look at all you will gain.
There’s a Holy Spirit fire pouring out in the latter rain.
Breathe in your freedom. Dance away from your chains.
Breathe in your freedom. Dance away from your chains.
Breathe in your freedom. Dance away from your chains.

In each and every heart there is a shining light
A hope for blinded eyes that hunger to see
A cry for compassion, a call to repentance
A prayer for salvation that reaches past humanity
There is a boldness where once there was timidity
A spirit of a sound mind where once there was fear
A fortress of strength in a battlefield of compromise
Standing our ground for His return draws ever near

In this connectedness of love and compassion,
This wonderous common bond,
We servants by our actions agree,
That we will never change, by our own devices.
But if we lift our heads the answer is easy to see.

Chorus

And all this time right here beside us,
Stands the Savior to lead us through the gates.
He holds the key. He calls to our spirits.
We rage and struggle and still He waits.

Psalm 61

Hear my cry oh God attend to my prayer.
From the ends of the Earth I cry unto You
When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the Rock
That is higher than I, that is higher than I.

For You oh Lord are a shelter unto me
And a strong tower from the enemy
When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the Rock
That is higher than I, that is higher than I.

Hear my cry oh God attend to my prayer.
From the ends of the Earth I cry unto You
When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the Rock
That is higher than I, that is higher than I.

I will abide in Your house oh my Lord, forever
I will rest in the shelter of your wings

To the Rock, that is higher than I...

What Kind Of Love

What kind of war are we fighting
What kind of fools are we thought
When will the fighting be over
What is the reason we fought
Why have we forsaken our brothers
What reason can show we were right
What kind of man can justify slaughter
In the face of our children. Why have we decided to

Chorus
Lay down in the face of confusion,
To walk in the darkness, run away from the Light
When a lame man with the Love of his Saviour
Can rise up and walk into Eternity’s Light
Rise up!
What kind of Love can set us free
What kind of Love...

What kind of Love can lead a world into Eternity
What kind of Love can lead a world into Eternity
What kind of Love can change a world
In the depths of derision to a Kingdom of Life
What kind of Love...

What kind of life are we living
In the shadow of certian demise
When will our suffering be broken
When will the wrongs be made right
Why have we chosen to shelter
Ourselves in the house our sin
When will we fall on our face in repentance and
Open our eyes, why have we decided to

Chorus

Why have we decided to...

The Highway

I’m waiting,
For a shiny new life when I leave the old.
I’m tired,
And it’s hard to go on when the world goes cold.
I hunger,
For a different place He prepares for me.
I wander,
Like a rudderless boat on a hostile sea.

Chorus
Deep in the darkness calling me,
Out to a brand new day.
I don’t want to be left in the back street.
Pinned down and hidden from the light of day.
I don’t want to be sitting on the curb
When I yearn to speed down a distant highway.

I wonder,
Will the world ever see what you’ve done for them?
I travel,
Down the lines on a map with an urgent mission.
I hunger,
For a glorious place He prepares for me.
I wander,
Like a rudderless boat on a hostile sea.

2nd Chorus
Deep in the darkness calling me
Out to a brand new day
I don’t want to exchange what You gave me,
For the worlds nihilistic ways.
I fight the fear and I cry, Lord save me!
Put me back on the narrow highway!
I don’t want to be left on the back street.
Pinned down and hidden from the light of day.
I don’t want to be sitting on the curb
When I yearn to speed down a distant highway.

Forever I Am

Who am I
To speak with such authority
Of matters far more splendid than the mortal eye can see
I am just a man
But through an infinitely higher grace
I’m called to be a witness to the beauty of His face
Who is He that loves me
Weeps like the rain for His lost children
Some know Him some do not
Who is He that loves me
Weeps like the rain for His lost children
Some believe Him some choose not
But for those who do
They are like a child once lost now found
Like the joy of finding that the one you love the most
Has brought you from your long journey
To a long awaited refuge to a place everlasting
On a sojourn to many mansions with the great I Am
Who is forever, forever, forever.

Come now dear ones,
Through the corridors of timeless peace,
To see with new eyes the glory of His presence
Here there are no tears,
Only joy and laughter,
As choirs of His angels fill His palace
With songs of praise and wonder.

Forever I Am

Here is a place where fears cannot dwell,
And wonders never end.
And on the throne, the Father, Son
And Spirit in His glory preside.
He smiles and speaks with perfect love,
Welcome home my faithful children.
Now the saints who’ve gone before stand with you
And all is made known.

Forever I Am

Forever I Am, Forever I Am,
Forever I Am, Forever I Am,
With no unanswered questions,
You embrace Him with your love.
Now free to move unhindered through a universe unending
New in mind and new in glory changed from flesh to spirit,
We join the choir of the Bride and swell the ranks of soldiers
In His name.

Forever I Am

Thank you, Father I praise Your holy presence!
Thank you, Father for what You’ve done in me!
Welcome children, my good and faithful servants!
Welcome children, come in to my home!

Forever I Am, Forever I Am, Forever I Am, Forever I Am.
Forever I Am, Forever I Am, Forever I Am, Forever I Am.

Who am I,
But your true and faithful servant Lord...
You are my Father... today I have become Your son.

On The Threshold of Eternity

Here I lay
With nothing but broken heart.
I gaze across this wasteland that I’ve made.
Locked in this prison, this fortress of my own design
I’d leave in an instant, if I were not so afraid.
I look for some reason, in childhood’s heady days
Some explanation, ah, the fortunes of war.
Now I stare in the mirror, the face of a traitor
And through the shifting fog comes a truth I’d failed to see before...

Dearest one, Oh my sweet child.
I never wanted you to face this dark day.
Please realize, won’t you understand.
I never left you, it was you who walked away.

The world spins around, so it goes without mercy
I wait for the end - gone - and no one will know
Somewhere inside, a little boy struggles
The wall collapses, and the tears begin to flow.

Child I know, how it feels to be laid bare.
Poured out like water, dispised and alone.
I’ve made a way, were once there was no passage.
You can be set free from all you’ve done
What have you to loose?

This frightened child, creeps behind the shattered walls.
Stepping gingerly around the shards of broken glass
To find a corner in the dark and wait for rescue
Or at the worst for the conqueror to come.
I cannot move, I cannot Breathe, and I’m so tired.
Oh God you must be there, I have nothing left.
I have nothing left, and I can’t fight anymore.
Please help me!

Come to me.
I will give you rest
I will take your burden, and comfort you.
I will give you, beauty for your ashes.
Mourn no more. Come, take my hand.

What is this, my eyes do not see?
Yet my heart is alive and it trembles within me
One name escapes my trembling lips
And the light tears the darkness that surrounded me.

What are you waiting for? Child arise!

Alive I stand unsteady at first.
Like an eaglet with yet untried wings.
But the power and freedom that shouts within me.
Pushes me out to see this shining thing.
Through the threshold and into your birth.
With unrestrained thanks again I cry.
In this new light pure and perfect
I lift my head,
I spread my wings and I fly.

The Illusion of Permanence

Nothing lasts forever.
Entropy lurks like a wolf in the pasture.
We cover his tracks with a coating of white wash.
But a new day reveals the imminence of our demise.

Do you worship the god of industrial beauty?
Do you tremble in fear at the truth?
Look in the mirror. Do you see wrinkles there?
Time is the hunter and it sees through your mask.

Chorus
All flesh is like the grass and it’s beauty like a flower
We live, we die and like dust our bones are scattered
The face you see in the morning betrays you..
And once again the illusion of permanence is shattered.

Consider all who’ve gone before.
Do you think you can avoid your demise?
In a moment, in a moment,
In the blink of your eye, this will all be over!

You want to live forever.
But you insist the solution be on your terms.
You can have a heavenly body
But the choice that you make
Is the choice that will save or condemn you.

Look to the First and the Last for the answer
See in His eyes and see eternity.
Follow His lead you will never see darkness.
Give Him your love and receive eternal life.

Chorus

All it takes is your desire to fly away from what awaits you here
Take His hand.
Call His name.
Tomorrow may never arrive.
Surrender before it’s over!

Chorus

×
Spiritual Fire

Here it is another Monday morning.
My life is nothing but empty wall.
Used to be it was covered with idols.
Now there is nothing there at all.
My friends think I’m deep in a state of confusion.
But I’m no victim of circumstance.
I have been given a clarity of focus.
Where there is nothing left to chance.

I never made a stand before,
Rejection is the price believers pay.
If my friends turn their back on me,
I didn’t need them anyway.

Chorus
It’s a spiritual fire.
And it’s burning in me.
It’s a spiritual fire.
And it’s burning in me.
It’s a spiritual fire.
And it’s burning in me.
It’s a spiritual fire.
And it’s burning in me.

I swept away the mud of sinful footsteps.
Erased the wrong from the corners there.
Let my Lord perform a spiritual cleansing.
'Til the place was completely bare.
Then He stuffed in His mercy
And filled all the cupboards.
Arrayed His grace all along the shelf.
I see his work with a sense of joy and wonder.
He loves me better, than I love myself.

I know it’s going to take some time
But I’m sure I will see heaven.
Because He promised He would stay,
And if my friends don’t understand I didn’t need them anyway.

Girl On A Swing

Winter has come.
The leaves have all departed.
Only the bones of trees remain.
A girl on a swing, alone and broken hearted
Dangles between frozen chains.

Her life is a string of dreams and disappointments
How she got here she’ll never know.
Deeply she aches for someone she can cling to
As tears tunnel down through the snow.

Chorus
So many broken and time won’t heal their heartaches.
When will their answer be revealed.
There is a beacon who drives away their darkness.
Turn to the cross upon the hill.

The girl on a swing is quickened by a whisper
Drifting along the bitter breeze.
She does not see her Savior weeping with her
Calling her name through the trees.

Chorus

From somewhere inside a voice of peace and comfort
Pierces the armor of her shame.
Nothing to lose she lifts her hands to heaven.
Head bowed she calls out His name.

Chorus

Are you lonely? Are you empty?
Turn to Me and be filled.
Are you broken? Are you weary?
Turn to Me and be healed.

A Thief in the Night

They say that character in the truest definition
Is who you are when no one sees.
If you were faced by Christ could you explain your actions?
Or would you be driven to your knees?
Do you believe that all you do is under observation?
Do you believe that God can be deceived?

Listen now to what I say.
Conviction caan’t be laughed away.
Your deeds brought into light of day will serve to weigh your soul.
Don’t exchange the truth for lies.
Don’t give in don’t compromise.
Heaven sees through your disguise
And the hour of judgement comes like a thief in the night.

Keep in your mind the agony He suffered to redeem you.
He took the thorns, took the lashes, took the nails because He loves you.
There is a price He demands for those who choose to follow.
You must be true to Him alone, your testamony never hollow.

When all is said and done and the final act is over.
And you stand before the throne.
How will you fare beneath the glass of Holy justice,
When Christ examines all you’ve done?
When you look upon yourself do you see what He longs for?
Or do you see the enemy?

Oh forever,
In the Kingdom we’ll walk with You hand in hand
And it’s changing my mind , my body, my direction
I know that you’re gonna come

How I love You Lord
I fly on Eagles wings
You turn my heart around
And set my mind on higher things.

Commonwealth

In the jungles of Asia. Under African skies.
In the mountains of China assemble the wise.
Crossing frontiers and borders, all around the world.
Watch in joyous amazement as the Kingdom unfurls.

1st Chorus:
Casting aside the old foolish ways
Keeping a watch for the Ancient Of Days.
Holding our eyes to the east for His return.
Gathered together the greatest and least
His church and His bride, His kingdom of priests.

Shout His name in one accord, the Way the Truth the Life.
And He is there to guide us along ’til the end of time.
He is there in the whole of creation great and sublime.
If there are two who close their eyes, lift their hands in prayer
Softly call His name and He is there.

Tell me brothers and sisters, what have we to fear
When the power of heaven is present here.
We must trust in His promise given for us to share
To be children of God His eternal heirs.

2nd Chorus:
Hear the call woman, man and child,
To experience comfort and mercy mild.
Bask in His love let the madness melt away.
Touched by hands that have healed and bled
The poor and the needy are gently led.

Dead to earth alive in heaven call upon His name.
And He is there to guide us along ’til the end of time.
He is there in the whole of creation great and sublime.
If there are two who close their eyes, lift their hands in prayer
Softly call His name and He is there.

Hear the call woman, man and child
To experience comfort and mercy mild.
Bask in His love let the madness melt away.
Touched by hands that have healed and bled
The poor and the needy are gently led.

Dead to earth alive in heaven call upon His name.
And He is there to guide us along 'til the end of time.
He is there in the whole of creation great and sublime.
If there are two who close their eyes, lift their hands in prayer
Shout His name in one accord, the Way the Truth the Life.
And He is there, to guide us along 'til the end of time.
And He is there in the whole of creation great and sublime.
If there are two who close their eyes lift their hands in prayer
Softly call His name and He is there.

Light At the End of the Tunnel

So you think you’re wise to the ways of the world
Watching the madness with a cynical eye
Speaking your judgement with a trembling chin
And quietly closing the shade
You cannot hold back all the years of your pain
Do you wish you could leap from this runaway train
You’ve spoken His name called Him time and again
But your doubt always kept Him away

Minutes to hours and hours to days
I seems just as black as the night
There’s only so much of this life you can take
With no hope of a rescue in sight
You feel you’ve lost salvation
I wish you knew the truth
That He’s always waited right here by your side

He’s the Light at the end of the tunnel
He’s the Beacon that guides your way
You can’t count on tomorrow to come
You need His love today!
His eyes have always been with you
You’ve never left His sight
Return to your Shepard
Let Him lead you out of the night

Why do you spend your life running away
Have you given Him reason to doubt
Why do you hide from the Light of the world
When you know He’s the only way out
If you question the joy of surrender
You need look no further than me
Will you ever hear Him knocking on your door

You’re not the type to be easily led
You’ve been around for so long so it’s said
And though you have judged by the fact you have seen
The conlcusion you draw is a lie
The world keeps on turning around and around
Day becomes night becomes day
Sooner or later your house will come down
And your passion will whither away
But for the clock keeps ticking away
And you’ve never a guarantee
Until you open up and let Him in

Chorus

...Return to your Shepard
It’s gonna be alright

The Long Road Home

I. So it’s Come To This
Beneath the face of an August moon.
Encircled by a gang of angry clouds.
Down the corridor of a silver beam, motes of dust wander aimlessly.
I startle them away with a wave of my hand.
They scatter along my unfinished thoughts.
So, it’s come to this.
I gave all I had to attain this world.
I have gained nothing but sorrow.
Here I wait as the storm clouds gather.
For my road to end, for what more can there be?
Surely there is no way for me to turn around and start again.
Or is there?
Can it be there is another way?
A guide, to take me to another chance?
If I called His name would He rescue me,
From this fairy tale minus happy ending?
Could it be that this Savior would draw close to me, and take me home?

II. Famous Last Words
I used believe that I was meant for greatness.
Now I understand that greatness was not for me.
I don’t think there’s a man alive who even knows my name.
Lets face it, I’m destined for mediocrity.
Sometimes I think about the way things might have been.
And the words of a young man to naive to see.
It’s all right, I can handle it, I’m in control.
Now I lie awake in bed afraid of tomorrow.
And I’m amazed they haven’t carted me away.
My friends never believed that I would get this far
But me I’m more surprised that I had the nerve to stay.
And now I’m hanging on to a broken limb
And it’s a long way down.
And a betting man wouldn’t give me one more day.
But it's all right, I can handle it, I’m in control.
Meaningless, all is meaningless.

III. Brush With Life
Thunder bellows for attention, like an angry father.
Lightning pops staccato flashbulbs, blinding sleepless eyes.
The wind howls a requiem for the unseen
Unceremonious passage of innocence
Gone forever, in deep unechoed sighs.
I stand before the Son of Man , I cannot hide my tears of shame.
I wait for Him to turn away but to my surprise He calls my name.
Do you think you’ve been alone? I have walked your every step?
I understand the pain you feel. I carried it down angry streets.
Child! Look upon My hands and My feet, the wound in my side
And the stripes on My back.
All of these that you see I gladly bore
That through My suffering you may live.
He strokes my cheek with nail scared hands.
And the truth in His eyes cuts to my bone.
I did this all for you, that you may never walk alone.
With voice now firm He calls to me
Follow Me, and leave your past. The time has come for you to choose
To live redeemed of die enslaved!
I look into the eyes of god, and slain in spirit fall to my knees.
I cry to my Lord. Forgive my sin! I cannot bare to live this way!
I lift my eyes to meet a gaze that heals me to this very day.
Lord! I choose to follow you!

IV. Free At Last
Free from this madness my old life is sent to the dust.
Gone is the ruin I dwelt in for all of these years.
Free from this prison I start on a voyage of trust.
No more the victim of hollow deception and fear.
I fly among loved ones in ten thousand years of romance.
We wait as a bride to be wed to the Lord of the dance.
Now comes our champion in royal array.
In promised return He is come here to take us away!

V. The Long Road Home
I have stood at the edge of destruction looked into the chasm.
I saw my face among those who would not believe.
Somehow, and I don’t know why but my eyes were opened.
I was shown the truth and given a heart to receive.
The One who has called all the stars to assemble and set them in place,
Has come to me and I’m sure I was awake when I saw His face.
He has taken my hand and set my feet upon the long road home.
